L’Agence de l’environnement et de la maîtrise de l’énergie (ADEME) vient de lancer une campagne de sensibilisation du grand public aux impacts environnementaux du numérique. Cette campagne a pour objectif de mettre en avant les écogestes utiles et efficaces pour que chacun réduise, à son niveau, les impacts liés à ses usages et ses équipements numériques.

En France, l’impact environnemental du numérique dans son ensemble (datacenters, réseaux et terminaux) représente 4,4 % des émissions de gaz à effet de serre et 11 % de la consommation d’électricité (ADEME, Numérique & environnement : entre opportunités et nécessaire sobriété). L’ADEME et l’ARCEP anticipent une amplification de cet impact du fait de l’essor de l’IA générative.

Une campagne éco-conçue

Dans un souci de cohérence avec les principes de la communication responsable et les messages portés par la campagne, plusieurs mesures ont été prises pour réduire au maximum son empreinte écologique. Aucun tournage ni shooting n’a été réalisé ; la campagne repose uniquement sur des photos et vidéos provenant de banques d’images. De plus, la majorité des vidéos ont été réutilisées et adaptées de la campagne précédente pour être en phase avec les nouveaux enjeux. Les fichiers ont été compressés au maximum afin de réduire leur poids, tout en garantissant une lisibilité optimale.
