Paris, le 15 novembre 2022 – Le 7 octobre 2022 le président des Etats-Unis, Joe Biden, signait un décret renforçant la protection des données personnelles dans le cadre des actions des agences américaines de renseignement. Ce décret vise à permettre l’adoption d’un nouvel accord entre les Etats-Unis et l’Union Européenne à la suite de l’annulation du précédent « Privacy Shield » par la Cour de Justice de l’Union Européenne en juillet 2020.

L’Alliance Française des Industries du Numérique, ainsi que 40 autres organisations professionnelles européennes et américaines, plaide pour la mise en œuvre rapide d’une nouvelle décision d’adéquation permettant de fluidifier les transferts de données personnelles entre les Etats-Unis et l’Union Européenne. En effet, des milliers d’entreprises, de toutes tailles et des deux côtés de l’atlantique, reposent sur ces transferts de données personnelles pour leurs opérations du quotidien et l’incertitude juridique créée par l’annulation du « Privacy Shield » a fortement impacté leur développement économique.
C’est pourquoi, nous invitons l’ensemble des parties prenantes à évaluer le nouveau cadre américain de manière juste et équilibrée afin de parvenir le plus rapidement possible à un accord. Dans un monde de plus en plus numérisé et multipolaire il est plus que jamais nécessaire de travailler conjointement avec nos partenaires historiques dans le but de développer des accords économiques respectueux de nos valeurs communes.
