Qu’est-ce que le slicing 5G ?

Le slicing 5G est une architecture réseau qui consiste à réaliser des « tranches de réseaux », offrant chacune des ressources quantitatives et qualitatives à la demande. Ainsi, le réseau physique peut être découpé en plusieurs réseaux logiques fonctionnant sur des infrastructures partagées mais ciblant des industries et des applications différentes.

5 cas d’usages ont été présentés par les acteurs de la filière, à savoir, les gare SNCF – espaces recevant du public et espaces privés, le Réseau Ferré National, le véhiculaire, la Santé et hôpital du futur et l’industrie 4.0. Ces exemples sont en phase de tests ou bien prévus prioritairement à moyen terme. D’autres cas d’usages comme l’aéronautique envisagent le slicing comme une pierre angulaire pouvant apporter de nouveaux services différenciés.

Le slicing 5G constitue une opportunité pour moderniser l’industrie en lui permettant d’accéder à des services sur mesure, et donc d’optimiser la gestion des flux d’un réseau. Il permet également de répondre aux exigences des différents cas d’utilisation des industries et autres verticaux. Son déploiement se déroulera en plusieurs phases, afin de répondre aux différents défis auxquels cette technologie est confrontée, pour un déploiement complet prévu pour 2024. Dès lors, l’Europe représenterait une part importante du marché (environ 20% d’après plusieurs études).

Par son rôle d’accélérateur d’écosystème, le CSF aura pour mission d’identifier les potentiels freins à la mise en place du slicing en France, ainsi que de trouver les solutions en associant l’ensemble des parties prenantes de l’écosystèmes des TICs français et européens.
